relating to placement on the minimum salary schedule and service credit in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas for certain public school career or technology education teachers.

Caption from analyzed text · version I.

Summary

Up from two, on pay and retirement credit.

The bill lets certified career and technology education teachers count up to five years of required industry work experience, instead of two, as teaching experience on the state minimum salary schedule. It also lets those teachers buy or establish up to five years of matching service credit in the Teacher Retirement System, instead of one or two. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, these teachers can be placed higher on the pay scale and build retirement credit faster.
