Summary

Nonprofits, churches and schools. Report within 48 hours.

The bill widens Texas's list of people who must report suspected child abuse or neglect within 48 hours. It adds board members and trustees of nonprofits, churches and religious groups, school districts, charter schools and private schools whose official duties may include receiving reports of misconduct against children by people tied to the organization. Starting September 1, 2025, those governing-board members carry the same personal, non-delegable reporting duty that teachers, nurses and doctors already carry.
