Substitutes too, before they teach in a classroom.
The bill requires school districts to give teachers the emergency operations plan training in person. It covers every district teacher, including substitute and guest teachers, and the training must happen before the teacher starts teaching in a classroom in the district. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, districts can no longer let a teacher, sub or guest teacher into a classroom without first completing that in-person safety training.
