Live-here-go-here campuses stop being compared with school-choice districts.
The bill stops the education commissioner from comparing the relative performance of a campus in a district where students attend school based only on where they live with a campus in a district that lets parents choose a different campus. It touches the state's school rating system, the commissioner, and every district and campus whose grades depend on those comparisons. On the ground, schools in residence-only districts and schools in choice districts would be rated against separate peer groups, and the rule reaches back to the 2023-2024 school year.
