The Texas Ethics Commission posts every one on its website.
The bill requires the Texas Ethics Commission to post every personal financial statement filed by public officials and candidates on its website within 15 days of the filing deadline or the actual filing date, whichever is later. It keeps the rule that home addresses, phone numbers and dependent children's names are removed before any statement is shown, copied or posted online, and it repeals one existing subsection of the law. Statements the commission is required to destroy must come off the website, those it may destroy can come down, and everything else must stay up online for the public to read.
