Summary

Markers go up between County Road 304 and Huppergate Road in Brooks County.

The bill names a stretch of U.S. Highway 281 in Brooks County, between County Road 304 and Huppergate Road, the Ernesto Soliz Cantu Memorial Highway. It touches the Texas Department of Transportation, which must design and put up markers for the name, subject to an existing condition in state law. On the ground, drivers on that stretch will see new memorial signs starting after September 1, 2025, and nothing else changes.
