Summary

Adds four-year elections alongside the existing governor-appointment language.

The bill rewrites the Insurance Code section on the state insurance commissioner to say the commissioner is elected to a four-year term that lines up with the governor's election. The same section still says the governor, with Senate consent, appoints the commissioner, and it keeps the rule that the governor appoints without regard to race, sex, religion, age or similar traits. The bill sets no election date, no ballot process and no qualifications for candidates, so the text leaves both an election and an appointment on the books with no way to resolve the conflict.
