Summary

A written order for every motion and protest.

The bill requires a county appraisal review board to decide, by written order, every timely motion to correct the appraisal roll and every timely tax protest a property owner files. It touches property owners who challenge their appraisals and the appraisal review boards that hear those challenges. On the ground, boards can no longer declare that an owner forfeited the right to file or be heard, except under two existing forfeiture sections, and owners can appeal the board's order in court under Chapter 42.
