Summary

Touches prescribers, pharmacies and anyone possessing the two drugs.

The bill adds two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol, to Schedule IV of the Texas Controlled Substances Act, next to carisoprodol, which is already listed there. That touches anyone who prescribes, dispenses, possesses or distributes those two drugs in Texas, along with pharmacies and doctors. Starting September 1, 2025, the two drugs fall under the state's controlled-substance rules and offense provisions, which apply only to conduct on or after that date.
