Summary
The maximum expenditure section gets repealed.
The bill repeals the section of the Education Code that sets a maximum expenditure for the Rural Pathway Excellence Partnership (R-PEP) allotment under the school funding formula. It also deletes a matching sentence in the program's employee rules that tied retirement eligibility to partnerships blocked only by that spending cap. Rural school partnerships and their coordinating entities lose the spending ceiling starting September 1, 2025, and their employees can still join the Teacher Retirement System if they would qualify in a similar district job.
