Summary
No TxDOT permission first. Notify TxDOT, take it down later.
The bill lets a city or county put up a temporary traffic signal or sign on a state highway without first getting TxDOT's permission when the existing device on that highway breaks. The local government must notify TxDOT and take the temporary device down as soon as practicable once the original works again. It also exempts these temporary devices from another Transportation Code section's restrictions, starting September 1, 2025.
