Summary
No glyphosate on school grounds. No red 40 or yellow 5 in school meals.
The bill orders the state agriculture department to ban glyphosate weed killers on the grounds of public and private schools, with an exception for high school crop-growing in agriculture classes or research. It also bars public school districts and charter schools from serving meals containing six listed food dyes, including red 40 and yellow 5, or anything substantially similar. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, school grounds crews must stop spraying glyphosate, and school cafeterias must drop food made with those dyes.
