Summary

A Texas physician must prescribe it after an in-person exam.

The bill bars anyone from selling or shipping an abortion-inducing drug through a website to a Texas address unless the buyer shows that a Texas physician prescribed it after an in-person exam. It touches online sellers and distributors who mail or courier these drugs into Texas. A violation is treated as a deceptive trade practice, open to lawsuits under the consumer-protection law, and is expressly kept out of the existing state jail felony offense in the same subchapter.
