Summary

During school breaks, for those whose job is only that.

This bill lets school bus drivers and cafeteria workers at schools claim unemployment benefits during school breaks, removing a rule that otherwise blocks school workers from collecting between terms. It covers only people whose school job consists solely of driving a school bus or working in a cafeteria. Starting September 1, 2025, new unemployment claims from those workers filed with the Texas Workforce Commission are no longer denied under that between-terms rule.
