Built, sold and driven only in Texas? Bill says EPA interstate commerce rules don’t reach it.
The bill declares that a motor vehicle built entirely in Texas, from Texas parts, and sold and driven only in Texas is not subject to federal EPA rules adopted under Congress's power over interstate commerce. It touches anyone who builds such a vehicle, and it requires those vehicles to carry a "Made in Texas" label in the form the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles sets. On the ground, Texas-only vehicles made on or after September 1, 2025 would carry the label, and the state would treat them as outside EPA rules of that kind.
