Summary

New rulemaking power over real estate and inspection education programs.

The bill rewrites the Texas Real Estate Commission's power to set rules for approving real estate and real estate inspection education programs and courses taught in Texas. It touches private real estate schools, course instructors, and students who need these courses for a license, and it leaves programs at public high schools and accredited colleges and universities outside the commission's approval standards. On the ground, the commission keeps its power to set course approval standards and minimum instructor requirements, while high school and college programs stay out of that approval process, starting September 1, 2025.
