Summary

Grants for county fairs and rodeos, a seven-member governor-appointed board, paid staff.

The bill creates a state grant program, run out of the governor's office, that gives money to county fairs and local rodeos for buildings, events, staff pay, and health and safety. It sets up a new seven-member board appointed by the governor, a new fund that can be spent without a regular appropriation, and paid staff hired by the board. Grant winners must sign a contract and file economic reports, and the board must report to lawmakers every two years, starting with the law taking effect September 1, 2025.
