Summary

Schools join city and county agencies in line for the gear.

The bill lets the Texas Facilities Commission give or sell surplus Department of Public Safety vehicles and other law enforcement equipment to school districts, not just to city and county law enforcement agencies. It touches school districts in economically disadvantaged areas of Texas, along with the commission and DPS. A district that gets the property can pay whatever price the commission agrees to, but it cannot resell the property for two years.
