relating to the jurisdiction of a court in a suit to divide certain property not divided or awarded on the dissolution of a marriage.

Summary

Forgot to divide something? Same court divides it.

The bill says the court that issued a final divorce or annulment decree, or another final property-dividing order, keeps continuing, exclusive power to divide property that was left out of that decree. It touches former spouses who later discover or fight over property that was never divided or awarded, and the trial courts that hear those suits. Starting September 1, 2025, those post-divorce property suits must go back to the original court, including suits already pending on that date.
