Summary

Per the committee statement, the state cap on members’ pay stops applying.

This bill says that a set of general state rules for county juvenile boards, Sections 152.0002 through 152.0008 of the Human Resources Code, no longer apply to the Winkler County Juvenile Board. It touches only the members of that one board and the county that pays them. According to the committee statement, the practical effect is that the state cap on what the board's members can be paid no longer applies, starting September 1, 2025.

THE TEXT

…“152.0006, 152.0007, and 152.0008 do not apply to the juvenile board”…

Bill text, House committee report version (H)

The bill exempts one county juvenile board from the general state rules that, per the committee statement, include the cap on members' pay, which opens the door to higher pay for those officials.
