Summary

Not just child victims anymore.

The bill expands a Texas evidence rule so prosecutors can put a defendant's other acts in front of a jury in sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault cases involving adult victims, not just child victims. It touches defendants, victims, prosecutors and courts in those prosecutions, including attempt and conspiracy charges. Starting with proceedings that begin on or after September 1, 2025, evidence of prior acts against the same victim and evidence of other sexual offenses can come in despite the usual limits on character evidence.
