Summary

Texas A&M Forest Service runs it. Fire departments update their own listings.

The bill orders the Texas A&M Forest Service to build and run a real-time statewide database of firefighting equipment that is available for wildfires. It touches fire departments across Texas, including volunteer fire departments and emergency services districts, which can search the database and update their own equipment listings. When a wildfire hits, departments get one searchable place to find the type of equipment nearby and who to call, with the Forest Service helping departments that choose to send in their information.
