Summary

Out goes the January 30, 2024 deadline. That one plan was already delivered.

The bill removes the old January 30, 2024 one-time deadline and requires the state utility commission to have ERCOT update its electric reliability plan for the Permian Basin every five years. It touches the Public Utility Commission, ERCOT, and the power users and transmission companies in the Permian Basin region. Instead of a single plan that has already been delivered, the region gets a recurring plan review every five years starting September 1, 2025, and one older subsection of the law is repealed.
