Summary

By telemetry or hotline. Public records requests need not apply.

The bill orders the Railroad Commission to work with ERCOT's grid operator and the Public Utility Commission to build a gas inventory system. The Railroad Commission must write rules requiring each covered intrastate gas pipeline operator to send the grid operator real-time information about its available gas supply, including by telemetry or a hotline. The grid operator gets a live view of gas available for power generation, and that information is kept confidential and shielded from public records requests.
