Summary

Applies to identical or substantially similar bond propositions.

The bill bars a city, county, school district or other local government from putting a general obligation bond proposition on the ballot if voters turned down an identical or substantially similar proposition within the last two years. It touches every political subdivision that borrows through voter-approved bonds, and the voters who decide those elections. Starting with elections ordered on or after September 1, 2025, a rejected bond cannot come back in the same or similar form for two years.
