Summary

From 100 miles off the coast to outside the first tier coastal counties.

The bill changes the home-location rule for three seats on the board of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Today those three members must live more than 100 miles from the Texas coastline; under the bill they only have to live outside the first tier coastal counties. That lets people who live closer to the coast, in counties just inland, fill the seats meant for non-coastal members starting September 1, 2025.
