The bill adds an exception to the state law that lists places where carrying certain weapons is an offense, so that two of those listed places, items (a)(7) and (13), no longer apply when the weapon is a location-restricted knife. It touches anyone who carries a location-restricted knife into those two kinds of places, and the prosecutors and police who enforce the weapon-free location law. Starting September 1, 2025, carrying that kind of knife into those two places would no longer support the offense, while the other listed places stay covered.
