Summary

Chapters 2271, 2274 and 2276, gone. The cross-references get tidied too.

The bill repeals three chapters of the Texas Government Code, Chapters 2271, 2274 and 2276, which the caption ties to state contracting with companies that boycott or discriminate against certain entities. It touches state agencies, the comptroller, and companies that want state contracts or comptroller agreements. Once it takes effect, those contracting restrictions are gone, and the cross-references to them in two other Government Code sections are cleaned up.

THE TEXT

“The following chapters of the Government Code”…

Bill text, introduced version (I)

The bill repeals contracting rules tied to company boycotts, which it calls a free speech measure, so companies that boycott would no longer be barred from state contracts under those chapters.
