Summary

Hospitals get help paying for artificial intelligence that scans medical images.

The bill tells the state health commission to set up a grant program that helps hospitals and health care facilities pay to use artificial intelligence to scan medical images for cancer. Each year up to five Texas facilities that offer medical imaging can get up to $250,000 each, if they put up at least a 10 percent match, have a doctor review the AI results, and report back on how well it worked. The program starts September 1, 2025, runs on whatever money lawmakers set aside or donors give, and ends September 1, 2035.
