Summary
Licenses with a special expiration date no longer count.
This bill changes the list of photo IDs a voter can show at the polls in Texas. It removes from that list any driver's license issued with a special expiration date set under certain sections of the Transportation Code, while keeping state ID cards, election ID certificates, military IDs, citizenship certificates, passports and handgun licenses. Voters who hold only a driver's license with one of those listed expiration terms could no longer use it as voting ID once the law takes effect, either immediately or on September 1, 2025.
