Summary

Software that logs everything and cannot be turned off.

The bill adds a new approval rule for voting machines: every piece of electronic equipment in a voting system must run software that tracks all input and activity, can create a record of that activity, and cannot be turned off. It touches voting system vendors, the state officials who approve voting equipment, and the counties that buy and use it. Equipment without this logging software could not be approved for elections ordered on or after September 1, 2025.
