Summary

For military leave pay, one shift equals one work day.

The bill says that when a public employee who works as fire protection personnel takes paid military leave, one 24-hour shift counts as one work day for figuring the leave pay. It touches firefighters employed by the state or local governments who serve in the military. On the ground, firefighters on 24-hour shifts get their paid military leave counted shift by shift instead of by shorter workdays, which changes how much paid leave they draw.
