Summary

Requiring a bundle becomes an unfair or deceptive practice.

The bill makes it an unfair or deceptive insurance practice for an insurer to force a customer to buy a car or home policy from it, or its affiliate, as a condition of getting another car or home policy. It touches insurers selling personal auto and residential property coverage in Texas and the consumers who buy those policies. Starting September 1, 2025, insurers cannot require bundling through direct demands, underwriting guidelines or trade practices, and violations fall under the existing unfair-practices enforcement chapter of the Insurance Code.

AN ACT

another personal automobile or residential property insurance

policy.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
