Summary

From 18 to 21 for carrying restricted knives and transfers.

The bill raises the age line in two Texas weapons offenses from 18 to 21: carrying a location-restricted knife off your own property, and selling, renting, leasing or giving a firearm, club or location-restricted knife to someone underage. It touches adults aged 18 to 20, plus anyone who sells or gives them those weapons, and it makes giving any firearm (not just a handgun) to someone under 21 a state jail felony. It also repeals Section 46.06(c) of the Penal Code, and the new rules apply to conduct on or after September 1, 2025.
