Summary

No dues, no conferences, no support of any kind.

The bill bars Texas public libraries, including public school libraries, from spending public money to join the American Library Association, attend its trainings or conferences, or support it in any other direct or indirect way. It touches public libraries, school libraries, and the staff whose dues and travel those libraries pay. Starting September 1, 2025, new public spending that flows to that association stops, except money already owed under a contract signed before that date.
