Summary

New grading standards wait a year after adoption.

The bill bars the education commissioner from putting into effect any change to the methods and standards used to grade schools and districts until one year after that change is adopted. It touches the commissioner, the Texas Education Agency, and every public school and district that gets an A-F style performance rating. On the ground, schools get a full year of notice before any new rating rule can change their grades.
