Summary

Staggered four-year terms, and leases up to 80 years, not 40.

The bill changes the local law for the Walker County Hospital District so its hospital managers serve staggered four-year terms instead of two-year terms. It also lets the district's board lease district property, including the hospital buildings, for up to 80 years instead of the current 40-year limit. Board members get longer terms, and the district can sign much longer leases of public hospital property, starting right away if two-thirds of each house votes for it or September 1, 2025 if not.
