Summary

Ranchers get a way to report balloons and the cattle that ate them.

The bill requires the state agricultural extension service to set up a way for ranchers to report balloons found on their land and livestock that died from eating a balloon. It also requires the extension service to run an outreach program telling ranchers about the reporting system and telling the public about the dangers of releasing balloons. Starting September 1, 2025, the extension service must send the legislature a yearly report on what ranchers reported, and that report may suggest ways to deter balloon releases.
