Summary

Automatic tax rate elections wait for the next general election.

This bill changes when a school district must hold the automatic election that asks voters to approve a tax rate above the voter-approval limit. Instead of the next uniform election date, the district must hold it on the next general election day for state and county officers that comes after the election order. School boards and voters in districts that adopt these higher rates are affected, because these votes would now land on the November general election ballot, which comes every two years, rather than on the earlier, more frequent uniform dates.
