Summary

Eight hours, max, in a single day of service.

The bill bars a school district contract from requiring a classroom teacher to work more than 480 minutes, or eight hours, in a single day of service. It touches public school districts and the classroom teachers they hire under contract. Contracts signed on or after the bill takes effect, starting with the 2025-2026 school year, cannot demand longer workdays, while contracts signed earlier stay under the old law.
