Summary
Joins Memorial Day on the no-class list.
The bill bars Texas school districts from holding classes on Veterans Day, adding it to the existing ban on classes on Memorial Day. It touches every school district, along with its students, teachers and families. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, Veterans Day becomes a day off, and if a district needs that day to make up lost class time after a disaster or bad weather, the commissioner must approve a shorter school year instead.
