THE TEXT

Bill text, introduced version (I)

This clause makes lying on a benefits application an offense. Based on general knowledge of Texas law, not on this bill's text, false statements to get Medicaid and other benefits may already be covered by existing Penal Code fraud and false-statement offenses, so part of this may repeat existing prohibitions.
