Commissioners step aside on matters with businesses they profit from. $5,000 line.
The bill bars a Railroad Commission member from acting on any commission matter involving a business the member owns a stake in, gets income from, or did more than $5,000 of business with in the past year. It touches the three elected railroad commissioners and the companies whose matters come before them. Starting September 1, 2025, a commissioner with one of those ties has to step aside from that matter.
