relating to a public school policy for establishing age for purposes of admission into the school for certain children of foreign military members.

Caption from analyzed text · version E.

Summary

Boards can admit them if they hit school age during the year.

The bill lets a Texas school board choose to adopt a policy that admits children of active-duty foreign military members stationed in Texas if they will reach the required school age during the school year. It touches school districts and the families of foreign service members stationed here. Districts that adopt the policy can enroll these children a bit earlier than the normal age cutoff would allow, starting with the 2025-2026 school year.
