Summary

Only teacher pay and classroom instruction, not general program purposes.

This bill changes what the state may do with the money that school districts pay when they buy attendance credit from the state. Today that money goes to general foundation school program purposes, and under this bill it could be used only for teacher salaries and purposes related to classroom instruction at school districts or open-enrollment charter schools. The money still goes into the state treasury, but the state could no longer spend it on other school-finance purposes, starting September 1, 2025.
