Summary
Two years under a Texas-licensed supervisor, then a full Texas license. Job offer required.
The bill orders the Texas Medical Board to issue a two-year provisional medical license to doctors trained and licensed abroad who live in Texas, hold a job offer here, and meet set exam, training, background check and federal work authorization requirements. It touches foreign-trained physicians and Texas hospitals, health systems and clinics that run accredited residency programs. Those doctors can practice under a Texas-licensed supervising physician at such an employer, then get a full Texas license after two years in good standing, skipping a U.S. residency.
