Summary
Caption: replacement and modernization. Bill: a plan, due every odd-numbered year.
The bill requires every state agency to list its outdated computer systems and write a plan to replace them with more modern, secure ones. Agencies must send that plan to the state information resources department by September 1 of each odd-numbered year, and the department must fold a statewide legacy-system modernization strategy into its state technology plan. Nothing is replaced or funded by the bill itself; what changes is a new recurring planning and reporting duty for agencies.
