Summary

Changes how certain cities draw the map around an arena or venue.

The bill changes how certain cities can draw the map of a project financing zone, the area around a convention center, arena, or venue whose tax revenue can be steered toward that project. Right now a zone must be a circle within three miles of the project's center, but a city described by Section 351.001(7)(B) of the Tax Code could instead draw any connected shape that holds the project and is no bigger than that circle. Those cities would list the zone's exact boundaries instead of a center point, and the 30-year limit on the zone stays the same.
