Summary

The Supreme Court chief justice already gives one. Now this judge does too.

The bill requires the presiding judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to deliver a state of the judiciary message at the start of each regular legislative session, alongside the chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court, who already gives one. The message must evaluate court accessibility for Texans and the future directions and needs of the courts. Lawmakers will hear a second message from the top criminal court starting next session, and no new office, fee or penalty is created.
