Summary
Gun must be legally possessed. And check your HOA rules before you fire!
The bill gives a person a legal defense if they shoot down, damage, or destroy a drone flying on or over property they own or legally occupy. It touches property owners and occupants with a legally possessed firearm, and drone operators whose aircraft were not authorized to be there. The defense applies to the property-damage offenses it names and to civil lawsuits, but only where the person was not barred from firing the gun by Section 42.12 of the Penal Code, other law, local rules, or property restrictions such as HOA rules.
